Anesco gets planning approval for 55MW UK solar project

Mar 04, 2022

British renewable energy developer Anesco said it had received planning approval for three solar projects in the UK with a combined capacity of 55 megawatts.

These include the 10MW High Meadow 2 Solar Park in Stockton on Tees, the 25MW moat farm array in Aylesbury and the 20MW Woodwarton scheme in Cambridgeshire. Construction on the High Meadow 2 project is due to start in April, while construction work on the other two projects will begin in late 2022.

The three solar panels are part of Anesco's 600 MW solar and energy storage pipeline, which is in the planning and shovel preparation stages. Some of these projects will be sold to Gresham Towers under the 200-MW Solar Development and Construction Partnership.

Anesco chief executive Mark Futyan said the company expects to secure more such development and construction partnerships this year. Investor interest in large-scale solar and energy storage projects continues to surge, according to developers.
